How to Survive a Monday

I'll be the first one to admit that Mondays are the worst day of the week! I don't think I'm alone on that one! For me, specifically, it's the busiest of the five working days, which means it's also the longest of the five working days. All the crap that happened over a weekend usually has to be resolved on the Monday, which makes it one of those "fix-up" days. You've also come off a two day break (hopefully) so your body and your mind have just become accustomed to rest and relaxation, before you're thrown cruelly back into the blender! It's quite a challenge mentally!

However, I have worked out a game plan for surviving a Monday, and I'm sharing it with you today:

1. Stay in bed.
2. Pretend it's Tuesday.
3. Call everyone Peter, all day long.

None of the above will probably work. You'll either get fired, end up going to work on a Saturday when you don't have to, or you'll be admitted into a psychiatric ward! I'm really sorry - it sounded like a good plan initially! However, there can be lessons learned from the above:

1. Mondays aren't going anywhere, so you have the choice of wallowing in misery for those 24 hours, or just accepting them for what they are - another day in your life and another opportunity to be awesome!

2. Stop wishing the time away! If you spend every week for 60 years hating a Monday and being miserable, you're throwing away the equivalant of 8 years of your life! Can you afford to do that? Make the most of EVERY day, not just certain days of the week!

3. We'd all rather be somewhere else on a Monday than at work/school, but the reality is that keeping busy will keep you sane! Idle hands and all that... Take full advantage of the opportunities that come your way on a Monday - some of the greatest ideas in human history may have been discovered on a Monday - think Edison or Einstein or Gates possibly? For all we know, they discovered their awesomeness on a Monday!

So in conclusion, if you really want to know how to survive a Monday, it's fairly simple: stop trying to! Live it, feel it, breathe it and enjoy it! It's another day alive! :)  Do something different, start a new hobby, make a new friend, read a new book...

I have a couple you may enjoy!
